I have loads of programmes from theatre shows dating back years. I decided to setup an online database to keep track of all this data.
I've started using Ecologi to plant trees with a total of 975 planted so far with a carbon offset of 16.79t. Signup using my link and you'll get 5 trees planted!
Ordnance Survey Bench marks (BMs) are survey marks made by Ordnance Survey to record height above Ordnance Datum. I record the logs of all BMs that I find on my travels.
As the name suggests, FMBs were the core part of the benchmark network with around 200 of them around the UK.
Higher level benchmarks are joined together with Levelling Lines. As I discover benchmarks, the lines will become more obvious.
Starting in 1935, Ordnance Survey began a retriangulation of Great Britain using their custom built Trig Points. I try to find as many as I can.
Flush Brackets are a unique type of benchmarks, often used for identification and can be found on trig points too!
The modern measuring system from Ordnance Survey, a network of GPS receivers across the UK.
Another form of Trig Point is the buried block or intersected station.
Part of the Kielder Water Transfer Scheme, this tunnel runs from riding mill to the River Wear & Tees unknown to many. This is my project of finding and logging the elements of the tunnel.
This section covers key defence structures, including ROC outposts and pillboxes, which were built as part of the UK’s wartime protective network.
Across Newcastle, I’ve discovered Invader’s ceramic tiles inspired by 8-bit video games.
I'm not one for hill bagging, but in order to find trig points you've got to walk up them.
I've pulled together some of my photos into one simple location.
